1979 – 82 collaboration with the sculptor Richard Mühlemeier, Bischofsheim / Rhön. Setting up timber workshops and bronze workshops
1983 master craftsman’s diploma at the professional school for timber, Bad Wildungen
1984 – 86 collaboration with the sculptor Ulrike Holthöfer in Kassel, Düsseldorf, and Berlin.
1985 – 87 academic studies of industrial design at the HdK Berlin
1986 – 94 copartner of the CrelleWerkstatt, Berlin. Development, production and distribution of own serial furniture.
1989 – 93 projects with Utilism International (Brandolini, Kufus, Morrison) Steirischer Herbst, Art Frankfurt, guidance of various seminars
1993 – 04 Professor of product design at the faculty design, Bauhaus University Weimar
Since 2004 professorship “create and design” at the UdK Berlin
