Franz Volhard
Study of Architecture at the Technical University Darmstadt, with sojourns into free music, jazz, film and photography. Return to town planning and architecture.
1983 establishment of the architectural office Schauer + Volhard in Darmstadt. Since then numerous award-winning projects. Appointment by the BDA (Association of German Architects). International teaching and publications on the subject of Building with Wood and Clay. The architectural work is accompanied by design of furniture and everyday objects, so far mainly as individual items. In addition, there is still the second life as a passionate cellist who plays chamber music in a number of different formations.
