In 1985 Herwig Huber, * 1965, founded the group FAUXPAS with Peter Großhauser. During the following years, Fauxpas became one of the most important driving forces of the Neues Deutsches Design, an independent, intellectual scene, whose representatives created a sensation as designers, producers and distributors of experimental furniture. In spite of the fact that Großhauser und Huber were only half as old as the majority of their colleagues, their work caused amazement through the combination of creative ease and absolute clearness.
Since the group disassociated in 1994, Herwig Huber operates a freelance design-studio under his own name in Munich. He conceives furniture, light, displays and other gadgets, produces small series in his own workshop, curates exhibitions and writes programmatic texts. At the moment he is in search of a publisher for his story of the group Fauxpas.
