Jörg Boner
Jörg Boner (*1968) lives and works in Zurich, where he has been operating on a freelance basis since 2001. After studying product and interior design at Schule für Gestaltung, Basel, he won a number of prizes for his projects, which were put into production by companies such as Veuve Clicquot (F), Nestlé, Wogg, Fontana Arte (I), ClassiCon (D), Nils Holger Moormann (D).
As designer, author and lecturer at Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (écal) Boner’s approach embodies mobility, creativity and openness, which, combined, undoubtedly make him one of’s most important designers.
In his work Boner successfully brings together two opposite design trends:
Product design and communication design. The clarity of his concept and meticulous implementation through appropriate use of traditional materials, bring him close to a family of designers for whom modernism is still alive. However, his use of objects as vehicles for anecdotes, memories and emotions places him among that generation of designers for whom the must, above all, communicate with its user.
