Moormann furniture is developed from initial prototypes, originated from their designers, to the finished product in close collaboration between the Moormann team and local craftsmen close to Aschau/Bavaria. The cooperation with small and medium sized companies, all based locally within a radius of 30km, grew over the years to a ‘Moormann-experienced’ network. The furniture is produced in several different enterprises based on their area of expertise e.g. metal work, wood work or other production techniques. A few furniture pieces of the Moormann collection are even developed in direct communication between these companies themselves. Several smaller components of the furniture collection are manufactured in workshops for disabled people.
As a team, internal as well as external designers together with craftsmen try to follow an appropriate and reasonable path regarding manufacturing and the right choice of materials, e.g. use of European timbers and sustainable materials. Through new furniture ideas and joy for innovation we constantly expand our network in order to explore new material characteristics as well as manufacturing techniques.Besides the modern manufacturing techniques like CNC routing, water-jet cutting or high frequency welding, the Moormann collection relies also on the classical methods like traditional wood work. This development of regional production through subcontraction forms the furniture collection and defines the Moormann philosophy in a fundamental way.
