Netto

Konrad Lohöfener

Netto
In all honesty. Who wants to be Everybody’s Darling anyway? Instead of pretending to be something he’s not, Netto rather opts for full transparency. His glass top provides a view of what is really important. And the construction of the side table leaves no questions unanswered. In the end character is always what counts anyway.

Character instead of concealing

Netto shows himself and his construction unashamedly. A filigree base frame of steel wire and ash rails as connecting elements. At the points where the materials come together there are nodal points that have become the furniture’s trademark. Netto takes the transparency of his construction to extremes with the glass top. At the same time the heavy top gives the delicate frame a down-to-earth quality.

Description

Netto

Design: Konrad Lohöfener, 2019

Netto – Italian for clear, pure, definite

The relationship to the Bruto chair family is obvious on first sight of Netto. Curved lines meet angular strips. The technical appearance of steel meets the warm feel of wood. Netto takes the transparency of his construction to extremes with the glass top. At the same time the heavy top gives the delicate frame a down-to-earth quality. Netto‘s individual components are produced by different companies with equally different specialist knowledge. The steel wire frame is produced industrially. Our carpenter surpasses any machine when treating the ash rails.

The very beginning

An old wooden clothes peg inspired designer Konrad Lohöfener to think about a connection that uses the tension of wood to clamp a metal wire. After some tinkering, a screw and nut were added to give the nodal point enough stability. That was the basis for a whole series of furniture concepts. After the Bruto chair and Lounge Chair Brutissimo, Netto rounds off the furniture family.
