Always different
A shelf consists of continuous side panels that give the individual shelf boards stability. Normally. Egal (German for however) reverses this principle. Continuous shelf boards make it possible to have an individual arrangement of the sides and compartments. However you like. According to the modular principle the compartments are in a random series at four different heights above each other. Sometimes broad, sometimes narrow and also adaptable at a later time. The fixed base for this versatile system is a socket that is available in four different widths.

The chaos has a system. Egal allows a regular or irregular arrangement of the compartments and adapts with this individual rhythm and different heights and widths to diverse room situations and shelf contents. Incidentally, Egal makes the perfect room divider with the graphic image of horizontal and vertical lines that are equally beautiful to behold from all sides.
Later extension
One thing is clear: furniture is a life partner. We like the idea that you do not have to break up just because the circumstances are changing. We prefer to design furniture in such a way that it can change and, for example, be adapted a little bit to the new rooms after a move. Height and compartment division of Egal shelf can change at any time. Furthermore the shelf can be individualized with all kinds of accessories such as sliding doors, doors and drawers. Rear walls also mean the rear side can be planned flexibly. Egal, as you like it.

Material properties:
Several birch veneers are cross-glued, creating a material with a high level of dimensional stability. Generally our birch plywood panels are surface-coated or oiled. They are produced in Finland. The slowly-growing trees in the Finnish climate create fine-grain wood of consistently high quality. The following properties can occur: knot inclusions on the edge and possibly different edge colors (image 1), inclusions, glossy stripes or matt areas on the surface (image 2).
Cleaning and care:
Light surface soiling on the untreated edges can be removed using fine-grain sandpaper. Coated surfaces can be cleaned using a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a small amount of colourless washing-up liquid. Please only wipe oiled surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and as necessary treat with colourless oil.

General Information
Egal can be modified or extended subsequently both in height and compartment division.
Shipping and Assembly
The individual units are shipped in flat pack form.
For larger configurations we recommend assembling by a professional team.
Wall or ceiling mounting is necessary from a height of 250 cm. A bracket for wall mounting is included in the delivery.
