Spanoto

Jakob Gebert

Spanoto
A table with tension moment. Because under the graceful tabletop Spanoto’s legs are only braced by the natural spring effect of wood. Stable, resilient and laid back, he carries everything that is put on the table.

Filigree lightness

A table with tension moment. Delivered flat, the Spanoto leg pair is assembled by being braced on the underside of the table panel at any position. Thanks to the natural spring effect of wood Spanoto can do without screws or other connecting parts for assembly. And it rapidly assumes its characteristic shape. The necessary tools are supplied.

Description

Spanoto

Design: Jakob Gebert, 1997

Fascinating construction

A 1.60 m wide Spanoto weights only 20 kg. But the filigree lightweight should definitively not be underestimated. It remains taut and stable while carrying everything that comes onto the table on a daily basis. And has also been synonymous for a number of years with our passion for its special construction. Spanoto does not need screws for assembly. The legs are braced in any position under the tabletop in continuous notches. And can be loosened just as easily, if necessary. During transport the legs and the supplied assembly aid disappear flat under the tabletop.

Regional constructed

The good is so close, they say. True, we find. That is why Spanoto just as all our furniture is produced within a radius of 40 kilometres around our headquarters in Chiemgau. It was originally thought only selfish. It was important to us that our ideas and designs quickly come into the right hands. Real specialists who not only speak our language, but who even understand us without many words.

Material Properties and Care
Spanoto Material properties and care

FU Black (birch plywood)

Material properties:

Several birch veneers are cross-glued, creating a material with a high level of dimensional stability. Generally our birch plywood panels are surface-coated or oiled. They are produced in Finland. The slowly-growing trees in the Finnish climate create fine-grain wood of consistently high quality. The following properties can occur: knot inclusions on the edge and possibly different edge colors (image 1), inclusions, glossy stripes or matt areas on the surface (image 2).

Cleaning and care:

Light surface soiling on the untreated edges can be removed using fine-grain sandpaper. Coated surfaces can be cleaned using a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a small amount of colourless washing-up liquid. Please only wipe oiled surfaces with a slightly damp cloth and as necessary treat with colourless oil.
